1.You must be 18 or older
Quickie is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. You provide your date of birth at signup to confirm your age; if we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account and delete the associated data.
2.Information we collect
Phone number. Your phone number is your account identity. We verify it by sending a one-time passcode (OTP) by SMS. Date of birth. Collected at signup to confirm you are 18+. Profile details. A display name and, optionally, a profile photo. Contacts (hashed). If you choose to find friends, the app reads your device contacts to see which already use Quickie. Phone numbers are converted on your device into an irreversible cryptographic hash before they are sent to us. We do not receive or store the raw phone numbers from your address book. Device & push tokens. Push notification tokens (including VoIP push tokens) and basic device information needed to ring your phone for incoming calls. Call metadata. Records about calls — participants, timestamps, duration, outcome (answered, missed, declined, cancelled), and whether a relay server was used. See “We do not record your calls” below. Safety data. Blocks and reports you create, including any reason and related metadata, so we can keep the Service safe. Diagnostics. Limited, privacy-respecting analytics about reliability (such as call success rates and crashes) to operate and improve the Service.3.We do not record your calls
Quickie does not record the audio or video of your calls. Call media flows directly between participants where possible, and is never stored by us. We retain only call metadata as described above.
4.How we use information
To create and secure your account and verify your phone number. To connect calls and ring the recipient’s device. To help you find friends who already use Quickie and to send invitations you initiate. To enforce your privacy and safety choices (who can call you, blocks, and reports). To maintain reliability, prevent abuse and fraud, and comply with law.5.Invitations to non-users
When you invite someone who is not on Quickie, the invitation is sent from your own device using your phone’s Messages app — you choose the recipient and press send. The invited person’s phone number stays on your device; we do not receive, transmit, or store the numbers of people you invite, and we never contact them ourselves.
6.How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to run the Service. We require each of these providers to protect your information to a standard at least equal to this policy and to use it only to provide their services to us:
Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Twilio — delivery of the SMS one-time passcode used to verify your phone number at sign-in. Cloudflare — relay servers that carry call media when a direct connection is not possible. Apple — push notification delivery (APNs) so your phone rings. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
7.Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Call metadata and safety records (blocks/reports) are retained for as long as needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data as described below.
8.Your choices and rights
Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data from within the app. This removes or anonymizes your profile, device tokens, contact matches, and personal data. Who can call you. You can choose whether anyone with your number can call you, or only your contacts. Blocked users can never call you. Block & report. You can block or report other users at any time. Permissions. You control camera, microphone, contacts, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise them.
9.Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and storing authentication tokens in the device’s secure keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
10.Children
The Service is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
